Rockhopper 65D

65 (65″) D (One way drag, Handles on spool)

$300.00

Description

The Rockhopper range of reels are especially designed for the rock angler, but are equally effective for any surf fishing.   This model has an adjustable star drag to keep a steady safe strain on the line when playing a big fish.   The handles are however fixed to the spool, they can be wound forward to apply extra pressure to a fish or can be released at any time without losing control of the fish.   When washing a big fish up with a wave onto a rocky ledge, the direct wind handles hold the weight of the fish as the wave recedes.   When winching a fish up a cliff, the direct wind handles overrides the drag and will not let the fish slip back into the water and possibly cut the line on the rocks.   The Rockhopper Classic has a full stainless steel back and a fibreglass spool.   Metal side cast system, on/off anti-reverse clutch system and a fish alert system are also features.   The reel is also fitted with large comfortable knob handles to allow you to winch large fish up the rocks and fight the fish.

Left handed reels are available.

We couldn't be more proud to have been Australian owned for 101 years!

This is the greatest country in the world, and we get to be a part of it, in this, our 102nd year in business.

From all of us at Alvey, we hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating everything that makes this country great (hopefully you can get a sneaky fishing session in!).

****Please remember to protect yourself from the sun and organise a designated driver if you plan to drink****

HAPPY NEW YEAR from Bruce, Glenn, Con and the entire Alvey team.

To say 2020 was a big year for everyone is an understatement. But with everything going on around the world, we were still able to celebrate our 100th year in business with the release of over a dozen new reels, including our first ever baitcaster and offshore reels (to rave reviews😊).

Thank you to everyone who supported us in our 100th year.

We wish you all the best as we move into another year, our 101st.

PS. we have a whole lot more coming your way in 2021, stay tuned! 😛
